MASS HITS THE STUDIO!

We have postponed a few live appearances in order to concentrate on our next full length studio album. MASS has been in pre-production for the last month and a half now. We are happy to announce that twelve (12) tracks have been selected and the recordings will start in November 2009!

All basic tracks will be recorded and engineered by the great Kenny Lewis at Mixed Emotion Studios in Middleton, Ma.

Mixing & Mastering will commence in January 2010 and will be handled once again by Martin Kronlund (Crack of Dawn) at JM Studios in Sweden. We will keep you posted on any further updates but look for what we believe to be the best MASS album yet in early 2010 on the UK’s Escape Music label.

MASS ROCKS ROCKLAHOMA 2009!

It's official!

Contracts have been agreed to and signed by MASS and Pryor Creek Music Festival for MASS to perform a 90 minute show at this year's Rocklahoma 2009!

MASS will be headlining the South Stage on Saturday Night July 11th at 12:30 AM! We are excited to have been invited back and to Rock with our great fans from all around the world! Hope to see you all there!

Rocklahoma is one of the largest Rock Festivals of its type featuring music from the eighties. Attendance has come from all fifty states and six out of seven continents.

Both Playboy and Rolling Stone in 2008 called Rocklahoma one of the top festivals that should not be missed.

Catch The Fever Festival Grounds is located four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma and has 6,200 assigned and numbered seats, as well as general admission on the lawn for over 50,000 people. The grounds also feature over 4,000 campsites, on-site parking, bathroom facilities and a convenience store. Rocklahoma also has a Picture Alley that allows anyone in attendance to approach the stage during any performance and take photographs of a favorite artist at close range.

Rocklahoma offers a one-day and four-day general admission passes, along with V.I.P. Passes that includes all the food and drink, including Free Miller Lite for all four days. We are very happy to announce that Michael Palumbo is officially back! After his solo project had ended, we felt it was right to ask the 10+ year member and big writing session contributor of CRACK OF DAWN back into the fold!

We look forward to a great year ahead in 2008 with more great live shows soon to be announced, and heading back in to the studio as well.

With that said, we would like to thank Lou Spagnola for lending us his talent and professionalism and doing a great job while filling in. We wish Lou all the best in 2008 and his future endeavors!

MASS SIGNS NEW RECORD DEAL

MASS is pleased to announce the signing of a five-year, three-album record contract with European Label, Escape Music of England. The first album is scheduled for a 2007 release which will consist of earlier demos that will be re-mixed and produced by Martin Kronlund in Sweden. The albums will primarily be released in all European territories along with Japan and South Asia. More information to follow.

MASS' next live performance is at JR's Bourbon Street Rock House in Cranston, RI on 9/16/2006. It has been a while since we rocked in RI and we look forward to seeing all our old and new fans at this one. We will be doing a split bill with the band Fortune. MASS hits the stage at approximately 9 pm so get there early and spread the word!

MASS has been in discussions with Girder Music (Chicago) who are interested in re-releasing the MASS "Best Ones" CD along with other possible re-releases. The CD will be revised with us adding additional bonus tracks and liner notes. This is in its very early stages so we will keep you posted.

Well, the wait is finally over for all the fans who have been asking. MASS has signed a deal with Retrospect Records (Las Vegas) to re-release their 1985 RCA "NEW BIRTH" record. This is the first time the record can be heard on CD! There will be a bonus track along with additional liner notes. Look for a release date very soon and information on how to purchase this classic MASS-terpiece!

The X-MASS show at SPIN nightclub was awesome! Original bassist, Kevin Varrio made a special appearance and jumped on stage to perform "Crying Alone" with his ex-bandmates... A very special MASS moment!

Yes, it's true, bassist Michael Palumbo has the left the band on a mutual agreement due to personal commitments. We wish him the best and thank him for the great times and shows over the years and for being a part of MASS.

Introducing NEW MASS BASSIST Lou Spagnola! Lou is an accomplished musician that fits the MASS mold. He has done the past two shows with MASS and hasn't missed a beat. We welcome him on board and look forward to an exciting future with Lou!

Sorry for the lack of updates, but it has been a very busy summer for us all.

First off, we would like to congratulate Gene and Michelle on the birth of their first child, Gina, born in early June.

Although MASS is still together and looking for a good label to release some of their older demos and newer material, each band member keeps themselves busy by being involved in solo projects which MASS fans may want to check out.

Joey and Gene are involved in a classic rock cover band called "Big Bang Theory". You can contact them for more info at cookingdrummer@aol.com.

Michael is also involved in a cover group called "Last Laugh" and has been for some time now. Check out his cover band at www.lastlaugh.net.

Louis is currently in the studio working with "Chip", guitarist of Mars Hill, on a CD due to be released on a European label in 2006. The name of their project is "ACTION". For more info on "ACTION", you can contact Louisd8@aol.com or marsguitars@charter.net.

Mike and Jill Palumbo were blessed with the arrival of a beautiful little girl, Samantha Lyn, on November 8, 2002. Our congratulations and prayers go out to the new family!

Studio production was complete last month and MASS has two brand spankin' new tracks to show for it! Everyone is psyched. It's You (recently played at NEMO 02) was reproduced and is "AWESOME!"
